Event description

Description

There are many tools, methods, strategies and company cultures that strive to accelerate innovation. Yet many companies, entrepreneurs struggle with their disruptive idea’s. The idea’s are not always realized in practice, and if they are realized there are not truly disruptive. How can you identify (create) a disruptive idea, and how can you bring this idea to the next technology readiness level? This mini-workshop is intended to familiarize yourself with a few hands-on and practical approaches to help support you with your disruptive innovations. Everyone working, either in material sciences or software development, can follow this course.

This mini-workshop is divided into three parts:

Part I: What is TRIZ? [16:00]
This systematic approach is a set of methods and tools developed over several decades. These tools/methods are built on the basis of extensive studies of many thousands of inventive solutions and patents. Rather than relying on random methods of producing creative ideas like brainstorm, TRIZ brings breakthrough problem solving at a new level by using common principles of invention discovered during these studies. TRIZ has been recognized as best practice of innovation at world-leading companies like Dow, General Electric, Intel Corporation, Procter & Gamble, Samsung. At the same time, TRIZ-based Systematic Innovation can be effectively used at innovative SMEs which have to deal with complex challenges under very limited resources.

Part II: [16:45]
Mini-session using TRIZ methodology with the workshop participants

Part III: [17:10]
Utilizing known project management tools/methods (IPMA) to lead and produce results within
a large multi-partner EU innovation project. How lessons learned can benefit you.

Network drinks: [17:30-18:00]
