Event description

Description

Recent work has emphasized the role that the vaginal microenvironment—especially the bacterial microbial community—has in modifying women’s susceptibility to HIV-1 acquisition. This talk will discuss the data supporting this association, future research priorities, and potential therapeutic inventions.

Speaker: Jeanne Marrazzo, MD, MPH, Director, Division of Infectious Diseases, C. Glenn Cobbs MD Endowed Professor in Infectious Diseases, University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine
