HIV in Neglected Communities: The Intersection of Homelessness, IDU, and Transactional Sex
The session will examine the recent HIV outbreak among homeless, injecting drug use (IDU) heterosexual women in Seattle and the challenges faced in engaging and retaining them in services. Strategies and lessons learned by the Safe Healthy and Empowered (SHE) Clinic engaging the women in services will be explored.
