Event description

Description

Participants will explore a variety of ways to incorporate academic discourse and writing into their classrooms while incorporating historical thinking skills, unifying themes of social studies, and social studies practices into students’ learning experiences. Participants will investigate and practice strategies to strengthen students’ historical thinking skills, conceptual and content understandings as well as self-reflection/assessment techniques. Participants will discuss how to plan for and implement ways to build student agency and engagement.

Participants will have time to plan and share with colleagues. Participants are asked to bring a current/future unit of study and (at least two) samples of student work with them for each planning session

In addition, participants will explore a variety of Differentiation strategies as they pertain to all students for enrichment and intervention. We will explore and practice the different methods in reaching our students as well as receiving and creating tools to support how students learn best.
