The Humanist Association of Ireland celebrates its 25th birthday in 2018.

To mark this milestone, we are delighted that author and philosopher Professor AC Grayling will address a gathering of humanists on World Humanist Day, 2018.

His talk, titled The Roots and Fruits of Humanism, will take place at The Royal Irish Academy on Dawson Street on Thursday June 21st and will begin at 18.30 sharp.

Doors from 18:00. Admission is €10 per person.

Professor AC Grayling is Vice-President of Humanists UK. He is Master of the New College of the Humanities and a Supernumary Fellow of St Anne’s College. He is involved in UN human rights initiatives, is a Fellow of the World Economic Forum, and has written and spoken for freedom of speech and secularism and against faith schools and sharia law.

An author of several books including, most recently, Democracy And Its Crisis, Professor Grayling has written for The Times, Financial Times, The Observer, the Independent on Sunday, the Economist, the Literary Review, the New Statesman and Prospect. A former Booker Prize judge, he also participates regularly in radio and television discussions and, as a result, is renowned as one of Britain’s best known intellectuals. He is is also a patron of Dignity in Dying.
