A+C 2013: Exploratorium at Piers 15/17 (2 LUs)

Join Marc L’Italien, FAIA, principal of EHDD, and Dr. Kristina Woolsey, Exploratorium staff project director, for a tour of the new Exploratorium at Piers 15/17. Founded in 1969, the Exploratorium was the first place where visitors could playfully interact with hands-on exhibits to understand natural phenomena. Having outgrown its original home at the Palace of Fine Arts, the Exploratorium is now almost three times larger than the PFA, and, with exhibit space highlighted by a glass-encased observatory, has unobstructed views of San Francisco Bay. The new nine-acre campus is accessible by foot, bicycle, and public transportation, attracting new visitors from around the world and nearby communities.
