About this Event

Abraham And The Groove’s Musical Mission

Abraham Dennis was the “Toast of Europe” for decades and is now a Messenger of Love in the USA. This legendary entertainer uses the musical styles of Rhythm and Blues, Sweet Soul Sounds, Smooth Jazz, Funk, and of course blended with a Rock and Roll vibe, to create his amazing soulful performances. As the lead singer of many bands, it has been said that he has the voice of Marvin Gaye, as he wisks you away on a magical dance trance evening. The mission of he and his band members is to share Peace and Love with people all over the world through their music.

Abraham‘s first band was the “Sounds of Poverty”, during his four year stint in the Army in Germany. In 1977 he started a 7 piece band called “Spitfire” which played Caribbean, Soul, Funk, and Rhythm and Blues. From 1983 to 1987 he created the

“Jo Geilo and the Heartbreakers” band, (which meant Hot and Kool in German.) This band can be seen on YouTube.

In 1984 in Saint Galen, Switzerland they performed at an open air Festival to approximately 40,000 diehard fans, where they recorded their first live album. They played all the ski resorts and famous hotels in the Swiss Alps where many famous Americans hung out to hear his music. The band was viewed on DRS TV and 3SAT TV in Mainz, Germany many times over those years, and each time was followed by a radio talkshow interview. They were always treated like royalty and very appreciated in Europe.

His next band in Switzerland was called “Dennis Do Groove”, which had six band members and included Paul Amrod, the brother of Willie Amrod. So when Abraham finally arrived back in the USA in 2009, he accompanied the Willie Amrod band, and they recorded the “Country Funk” record together.

In 2013 he created the “Abraham And The Groove” Band, where he covers the sounds of Santana, Bill Withers, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, The Neville Brothers, and James Brown etc. They can be heard on Sound Cloud, and seen on YouTube. “The Groove’s” music is guaranteed to make everyone want to get out of their seats and dance the night away.
