The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney offers an opportunity for local, domestic and international
visitors to learn about the richly diverse history and culture of the Aboriginal People of Australia.
The Gardens were an important ceremonial site for many of the Sydney Aboriginal Nations, and home to the Cadigal people of the Eora Nation. Come along and experience Wogganmagule (Farm Cove) and its’ surrounds and learn about tradtional lifestyles including a diverse array of bush foods, the ample fresh water and a plentiful supply of seafood from the harbour. It was paradise for the local Aboriginal people for thousands of years.
The Aboriginal Heritage Tour offered by the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney enables visitors an opportunity to experience the rich culture and food sources of Aboriginal people within Australia. So come along and meet with our Aboriginal guides in the heart of the city and get to know Australia's First Nations People & Country.
Where: Meet at the Garden Shop/Information Booth
When: Every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 10 am (excluding public holidays).
Please note: There will be no tour on Wednesday 1st March or Friday 3rd March
Cost: $39 per person (children 7 years and under free)

Does the tour run in all weather?
Yes, the Aboriginal Heritage Tour runs in all weather. If there is an extreme weather warning from the Bureau of Meterorology we will inform you as soon as possible and provide a full refund or transfer. We do not provide refunds if you choose to not attend due to weather.
Do you have a student/concession/child price?
The Aboriginal Heritage Tour is $39 per person. Children 7 years and under are free.
Where is the meeting point?
Please meet your guide at the Garden Shop/Information Booth in the centre of the garden behind the restaurant. A map can be found on our website here: https://www.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au/Visit/Map
Can I pay on the day?
Bookings are preferred online so that our guide can be ready to welcome you on the day. If you cannot book online we can accept Visa or MasterCard payments on the day only. We cannot accept cheques, cash or American Express.
Is there parking nearby?
Limited metered parking is available on Mrs Macquaries Road. Public transport is recommended.

2. Bookings and Payment
Purchase of a booking in Eventbrite is final. Participants are required to bring a copy of their Eventbrite booking confirmation to the activity.
3. Refunds and Cancellations
a. Wet Weather
All booked programs will go ahead in wet weather. In the case of severe weather warnings the BGCP may cancel and a change of date or refund may be offered at the BGCP’s discretion.
No refunds apply for cancellation of bookings made through Eventbrite.
A request for a date change can be made in writing 48 hours prior to the booking commencement time. Approval of a date change is at the discretion of the BGCP.

The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney
The Royal Botanic Garden is an oasis in the heart of Sydney. Established in 1816, it is the oldest scientific institution in the country and home to an outstanding collection of plants from Australia and overseas.
People visit the Garden for peace, relaxation, education and to learn more about plants and horticulture. Entry is free but some special events are ticketed.
