Event description

Description

LookAfrica, as part of the organization’s contribution to the development of youths and as one of its empowerment steps initiated the programme “Brain Facio” to unleash a healthy competitive ground for the youths in Africa.

Background:

Brain Facio is a program initiated by LookAfrica, for the benefits of all students in Africa. The program has grown to be accepted as an annual project as it started in 2014 in Anambra, Nigeria. The program is intended to harness the intellectual abilities of students by giving them the opportunity to research, write and present a conference paper on a topic that borders on the Role of Youths in the upward surge of their Nation.

Participants for the program shall be drawn across all the tertiary institutions, secondary and primary schools tailored to a peculiar locality indigenous to a people. The participating students are expected to give detailed analysis of the topic, write on the topic, and present it as a conference paper to an audience of both staff, students, dignitaries and judges that will grace the event.

The participants are expected to pass two (2) or more stages of scrutiny. Under each stage, different criteria shall be used to judge and award points to participants. At the end of each stage, only successful participants move to the next stage. The final stage is the conference, where the participants will present their written work as a conference paper to the mass audience. At the end of this stage, the best candidates shall be awarded prizes.

  • Ø Objectives Of Project:

This project tries to solve the underlying problem of Africa. It tries to involve the students in the solution and thereby achieve a radicalization of the role of the young generation in the development of their lives and the society at large. For so long, the youths have been sidelined in the process of making a better nation. They attend conferences, listen to seasoned speakers, nod their heads in agreement to the solution they have proffered, only for them to go home and forget all they had heard. This project is intended for the students to do the research, write and explain a better way forward for their nation. It is only when we give our young people the opportunity to go into the field for analysis that they can join in the understanding of the future Africa deserves and can find the causes of the problems and better solutions to them. This project avails us that room to explore, not only our intellectual abilities, but also the Genius in us.

  • Ø Eligibility/Project Target:

Only students are eligible, unless otherwise pronounced.

  • Ø Registration/Criteria For Application:

  • Ø Scrutiny/Screening:

  • Punctuality/Time management
  • Grammar
  • Mechanical Accuracy
  • Organization
  • Context; and any other criteria the judges may deem necessary, as to be approved by the organizers.
