The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) is a research center that works to reduce poverty by ensuring that policy is informed by scientific evidence. J-PAL draws on results from randomized evaluations to answer critical questions in the fight against poverty, and builds relationships with governments, NGOs, and donors to share this knowledge and scale up effective programs. J-PAL's work is primarily focuded in the following 10 sectors: agriculture; crime, violence, and conflict; education; environment and energy; finance; health; gender; firms; labor markets; political economy and governance.
