ABCs of BDS: Not as Simple As It Looks

Thursday, March 30 at 7:30 PM

What is the global Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) Movement? Is it a campaign to pressure Israel into negotiating a two-state solution, or an effort to delegitimize the Jewish State? Established in 2005, the BDS “call for action” has been directed at a broad range of Israel-related initiatives including investment, political, academic, and cultural activities. What are the BDS movement’s roots, what are its aims, and what impact is it having on Israel and the Jewish community? We’ll explore these questions with Dr. Mitchell Bard, Executive Director of the American-Israeli Cooperative Enterprise. Dr. Bard co-chairs the task force on BDS & Delegitimization for the Global Forum on Combatting Anti-Semitism created by the Israeli Foreign Ministry, and has written and spoken extensively on U.S. - Middle East policy. For those who are interested in personal follow-up, resources will be offered for further education and engagement.
