Event description

Description

Everyone is welcome to come help us clean up the Abbott Marshlands!

The Abbott Marshlands are a freshwater tidal marshlands along the Delaware River. Because of their location they are constantly under threat from pollution, both from the trash that washes in from the river, and the inland trash that blows into the marsh. Every Fall and Spring the NJ Watershed Ambassador Program partners with the Friends for the Abbott Marshlands to help clean up the marsh! In November 2019 we cleaned up about 450 pounds of trash from the marsh! This year we hope to collect even more in partnership with the South Jersey Scrub - a week long initative to scrub as much of South jersey as we can!

This is a FREE event and we welcome all ages! Children under the age of 15 need to be accompanied by an adult.

Groups are also welcome to sign up!

What to bring: a watter bottle, wear warm clothes/ layers, long pants, and sturdy closed toed shoes or boots (they might get wet - we recommend rain boots or waterproof hiking boots if you have them). If you have your own work gloves, neon safety vest, or trash grabbers you are welcome to bring them!

Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to sign in and enjoy some light refreshments!

Please email Samantha Pfeffer if you have any questions or concerns!
