Event description
Ethical and cultural treatment considerations that ABA practitioners should keep in mind when working in international contexts.

About this event

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a science that utilizes the principles of behavior to improve socially significant behaviors. ABA intervention strategies are widely recognized as the number one, evidence-based approach to addressing the core deficits associated with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). However, ABA has been largely utilized in western, high-income countries (HICs). What happens when ABA strategies are implemented in non-western and /or low- and middle- income countries (LAMICs)? This presentation will highlight key ethical and cultural treatment considerations that ABA practitioners should keep in mind when working in international contexts.
