AAUW Woman to Woman Day

A full day of events to choose from, hosted by AAUW Tahlequah and co-sponsored by the NSU Student Government Association. All proceeds benefit AAUW Tahlequah, including scholarships and programming.
11:00 am to 1:00 pm -- Women's Networking and Mentoring Luncheon (UC Morgan Room, 3rd Floor), $5/person
Open to anyone, especially AAUW members, community leaders, and students, this brunch will allow you to informally discuss a variety of topics important to women and girls. Cost is $5 per person (plus $1.27 processing fee if ordered online). Guests should consider sponsoring one or more students for $5 (plus $1.27 each if ordered online) each. A light brunch will be available.
2:00 pm to 3:00 pm -- Panel Sessions on (1) Campus Safety and Sexual Assault and (2) NSU Robotics Program (UC Morgan and Redbud Rooms, 3rd Floor), Free and open to the public
(1) Campus Safety and Sexual Assault (Morgan Room): Title IX discussions nationally have made the public more aware of this acts role in the reporting, investigation, and punishment of sexual assault violations. Join campus experts on what Title IX requires at NSU and every school across the United States.
(2) NSU Robotics Program (Redbud Room): Join Barbara Fuller, founder of NSU's internationally-recognized robotics program, the only one in the nation housed in a College of Education, and her student team as they discuss how robotics can encourage girls to explore science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education and careers.
3:00 pm to 4:00 pm -- Panel Sessions on (3) Native American Women in Education and (4) Student Forum (UC Morgan and Redbud Rooms, 3rd Floor), Free and open to the public
(3) Native American Women in Education (Redbud Room): NSU professors and staff, including Sarah Barnett, Rachel Green, Virginia Whitekiller, Tiffany Hardbarger, and Kimberli Lee, discuss many aspects of Native American women accessing and succeeding in education.
(4) Student Forum (Morgan Room): NSU students host an open forum on issues of importance to female students.
5:30 pm to 7:00 pm -- AAUW Tahlequah banquet featuring Oklahoma Representative Emily Virgin (D-Norman) (UC Morgan Room, 3rd Floor), $25/person
Join AAUW Tahlequah for the Woman to Woman banquet, featuring keynote speaker Rep. Emily Virgin (http://www.okhouse.gov/District.aspx?District=44) on issues this legislative session affecting women and girls in Oklahoma. Cost is $25 per person (plus $2.37 if ordered online).
