STEM Workshops for Girls!
WHAT IS THIS EVENT?
This is our first STEM Workshop series for girls on a Saturday on USC Campus from 8:30 am to 12 pm.
The event contains 3 mini-workshops for 45 minutes each. The topics of these mini-workshops are - Bio-medical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Computer Science.
WHO CAN ATTEND?
Any girl who is curious about science and is in 8th grade or above. Attending an outside STEM program is not required. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your grade and school so we can group participants by age, in particular.
It is fun way to learn science and meet other girls.

Association of American Women in Universities (AAUW) - Greater Columbia Branch is partnering with science professors and teachers, STEM organizations and volunteers to organize this event.

American Association of University Women (AAUW) in Greater Columbia
AAUW advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research.
With close to 400 members and 11 active branches throughout the state, along with more than 300 Members-At-Large, we are able to further this mission and bring equity to the women and girls in our communities. AAUW SC has branches in: Aiken, Beaufort, Charleston, Denmark, Due West, Gaffney, Greater Columbia, Greenville, Hilton Head, Newberry, and Rock Hill.
At both the state and local level, we have partnered with organizations such as the League of Women Voters, the SC School Improvement Council, the SC Women Lawyers Association, the Friends of Education, the Leadership Institute at Columbia College and other similar groups who are working to improve the lives of all our citizens.
AAUW has worked to promote education and equity for women and girls for more than 130 years.
