Description

The American Association of University Women, Fremont Branch present their fortieth Mother/Daughter STEM Discovery Day--A morning of fun and hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) activities for 3rd and 4th Grade girls and their mothers, aunts, grandmothers or any female role model.

  • Attend four of the nine activities offered
  • Limited seating per activity; register early
  • Activities will be assigned as we receive registration; popular classes fill up fast
  • Beverages and snacks provided at break time; fun stuff to take home
  • Adult participant may be mother, grandmother, aunt etc

Activities Offered (you will select four during the registration process):

  1. Build a Rocket: Aeronautical Design Engineering for Kids
  2. Why do Baby Diapers Absorb sooo much Water: Properties of Matter
  3. Computer Talk: Intro to Coding using Block language
  4. Mad Science: Lights, Color, Action
  5. Chinese Puzzles, Tangrams
  6. Planetarium Show
  7. Build the World's Tallest Tower: Civil Engineering
  8. Build the World's Simplest Electric Train: Magnetism
  9. Build a Rainbow in a Tube: Density

Cost: $25 per adult/3rd or 4th Grader pair; $15 for a second 3rd or 4th grade sibling from same family.

Limited scholarships available for Title 1 students

Once you complete registration, we will assign the activities and send you an email confirmation. Since seating in each activity is limited, we will assign them on a first come-first served basis. If the activity you requested is full, we will assign an alternate activity. All activities are fun, so you will have a fun morning regardless.

We will email you your final activity list to the email address you provide with your registration—please bring that email with you to the event. You will not need a paper ticket.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

We will be sending you a map and parking options along with your activity confirmation email a couple of days prior to the event date

What can I bring into the event?

Please bring your activity confirmation email and the map we send you; Please check your email and spam the week of the event for this confirmation email which we will need at the event to navigate your rooms and sessions.

What's the refund policy?

We have enable refunds online at Eventbrite up to a week before the event. Please contact us if you have an unforseen circumstance and need a refund after the one week cut-off.

I am not assigned the activity I requested. Can I request a change?

Seating is intentionally limited in each activity/session and we assign them on a first come-first served basis. If you have not been assigned the acttivity you requested, all sessions of that activity is full. You will enjoy all activties!
