Description

DESCRIPTION

What are the key elements we need to build resilient textile & apparel systems that support people, planet and profit?

From developing new, renewable materials technologies to working on the ground with fiber producers to restore our soils, California textile brands and manufacturers are driving sustainable textile and supply chain innovation forward into a brighter future.

Join AATCC CA for an exploratory discussion with a few of these sustainability-forward organizations to discuss the key elements for resilient textile & apparel economy. The panel will be moderated by AATCC CA Sustainability Pillar Chair, Krystle Moody.

We will hear valuable insights from each panelist including:

  • How Bolt Threads is developing new advanced materials inspired by spider silk and collaborating with high fashion designer Stella McCartney to create a locally produced knit dress for MOMA's Items: Is Fashion Modern? Exhibit
  • How The North Face is supporting California soils and local regenerative natural fiber producers
  • How Huston Textile Company launched their first textile program with a pre-sale campaign and implemented organic and regenerative fiber sourcing into their DNA
