For the upcoming concert at Gallery 345 on November 28, 2019 at 8:00 PM Aaron will be performing a number of his original compositions, including settings of poems by his father, Chandler Davis. As well Aaron will be performing songs with lyrics by Ron Sexsmith, as well as new instrumental works.

Aaron Davis is an eclectic composer, arranger and keyboardist who is perhaps best known as a founding member of the Holly Cole Trio, with whom he still works, and the world beat band Manteca. He is music director for and collaborator with singer Measha Brueggergosman. Aaron is also a composer of over 100 film scores, and the winner of 3 Gemini Awards and 2 Juno Awards.

He has co-written songs with Mary Margaret O’Hara, Ron Sexsmith and Marc Jordan, and worked as arranger for a number of artists and organizations, including the San Francisco Symphony, the Finnish National Opera, the Art Of Time Ensemble, Ed Robertson, Steven Page, Madeleine Peyroux, Alison Krauss, Natalie MacMaster, Canadian Brass, Sarah Slean, Quartetto Gelato and Sophie Milman.

Since 2011 Aaron has been working on interactive multi-media art installations with his wife, visual artist Candida Girling. They created “Marcovaldo’s Bench”, an installation which was part of Toronto’s “Nuit Blanche” festival.

Aaron produced and played on a CD for David Myles called “In The Nighttime”. Recent CD credits include Buffy St. Marie’s Polaris and Juno award-winning “Power in the Blood”, as well as CDs by Amelia Curran and Rose Cousins. Recent film music credits include musical director and composer for the 2018 Emmy-nominated documentary “Dreaming Of A Jewish Christmas”.
