An interactive workshop exploring anti-Asian Violence Beyond COVID-19
About this event
Join AAPI Women Lead on May 30th at 1-2:30PM PST for our Power Building Series + Fundraiser where we explore anti-Asian violence beyond COVID-19. The workshop will include a discussion led by Executive Director Dr. Connie Wun and an interactive breakout session where participants will be able to discuss, process, and build community together.
We explore and expand our understanding of systemic, institutional, interpersonal and intra-personal violence. We'll explore the roots of racialized gendered violence, specifically as it relates to Asian + Pacific Islander women in the United States.
Participants will receive the conference link before the workshop as well interactive worksheets designed to accompany this webinar. There will also be grounding activities and special announcements.
Proceeds will go to AAPIWL's Youth-Led Mutual Aid Projects Relief-Fund. This project is led and created by our Youth Leader, Sarah Rincon. The relief-fund will support and serve youth, including undocumented youth between the ages of 18-25 who have and intend to create mutual aid projects. The project aims to show the power and solidarity of youth-led community support, even while being physically distant and especially through a global health crisis. Our communities have always shown our leadership and collective responsibility towards one another. We have taken care of each other and we will continue to do so during and beyond the pandemic. We seek your support in making this happen.
With your donation, we support youth, their families - including undocumented and other underresourced communities.
We are excited to have you join us and thank you for your support.
Note: We are prioritizing self-identified AAPI women and girls.
