Dear Salt Lake,
You're invited to a once-in-a-lifetime gala event. This summer we are hosting the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists (AAEC). Everyone is welcome to a number of free public forums, but the high point of the convention is the 'Cartoons and Cocktails' benefit at Little America on Saturday, June 29, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Usually, one has to travel to Washington, DC, for this event. This year, it is coming to Salt Lake.
America's foremost editorial and comic cartoonists, including legendary Pulitzer Prize winners, have donated their work to support free expression.
Whether liberal or conservative, history is being drawn....be there!
Advance registration is encouraged. Order online by Wednesday, June 26, 2013. Cost is just $40 per person/$75 per couple in advance.
NOTE: After Friday, June 28, tickets may be purchased at the door at a cost of $45 per person/$80 per couple.
Attire: business casual or 20's attire.
When & Where
Association of American Editorial Cartoonists
The Association of American Editorial Cartoonists (AAEC) is a professional association concerned with promoting the interests of staff, freelance and student editorial cartoonists in the United States. The AAEC sponsors a 'Cartoons in the Classroom' program designed to aid educators at all levels in teaching history, economics, social studies and current events. We have an annual convention to give member cartoonists an opportunity to meet and consider issues through panel discussions and guest speakers. Between conventions, cartoonists can discuss issues on a daily basis through a members only email list-serve. The officers of the organization consist of a president, vice president and board of directors that serve one year terms. They are elected by active AAEC members.
