Join the AAAIM family this September in NYC for our 2022 National Conference, ELEVATE- Creating Opportunities in Times of Uncertainty!

About this event

AAAIM’s annual conference is the national platform for Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) investment managers across the major asset classes of private equity, hedge funds, public equities, fixed income and real assets to meet, conduct business and learn from insightful leaders - and each other. The event gathers a broad range of investment professionals with common interests from public pension funds, other institutional limited partners, emerging managers and large investment firms.

This year's conference will feature discussions on the impact to our industry of continuing global economic uncertainty, growing inflation, supply chain disruptions, and a tightening labor market. What are the effects of the immediate and medium-term economic conditions to our industry and to AAPI investment managers? What is the impact on fundraising? With these uncertainties, there will also be opportunities in the market. Additionally, speakers will explore how ESG trends, the rise of crypto, the SEC’s recent regulatory proposals, and the changes to the workforce environment may necessitate a re-focus and re-positioning of investment strategies and return expectations.

At the conference, we will also present AAAIM’s 2022 update to our 2020 Study titled “Representation of AAPIs in Asset Management: Analysis and Strategic Response,” conducted by Professor Josh Lerner of Harvard Business School and Bella Private Markets. Other AAAIM research initiatives will also be released, including a study on the challenges facing AAPI women in the asset management industry, the state of AAPIs in venture capital undertaken in collaboration with UC Berkeley, and the genealogy of AAPIs in Finance/Wall Street.

Onsite registration will not be available.
