Volunteer registration: March 2, 2017 - March 28, 2017.
Arena volunteers must:
Demonstrate horsemanship skills (obtained through 4H, riding club or horse ownership)
Dress appropriately for a horseshow (boots, jeans, no tanks or shorts)
Be able to lift 20 pounds and walk on uneven surfaces (moving gates/fence panels/setup for events in the arena)
All volunteers are expected to conduct themselves in a mature and responsible manner at all times while at the arena. This includes good communication with the event coordinator, SOTX coaches, athletes and other volunteers, using appropriate language and exhibiting appropriate behaviors at all times.
A light breakfast and lunch will be provided for volunteers.

The mission of Special Olympics Texas is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
