No prior knowledge is required for sport-specific volunteering opportunities. We will train you for each role. Don't be afraid to sign up for a specific event. We need you!
Online volunteer registration: 04/05/17 - 05/01/17.
Please limit groups to 20 volunteers per shift.
Volunteers ages 15 and over can volunteer independently. Volunteers ages 8-14 will each require an adult chaperone while they volunteer. Volunteers ages 7 and under are welcome to be "Fans in the Stands" with adult supervision.
Potential Volunteer Assignments: Scorekeepers, stagers, athlete escorts, souvenirs, equipment set-up, equipment breakdown, opening ceremonies, awards, markers, measurers, ball shaggers, floaters, volunteer check-in, athlete village. Please print and bring your ticket so we know where you are assigned.
Attire: Please dress for comfort and mobility. Wear comfortable shoes - you will be on your feet most of the time.
Parking: General parking is available at venue

The mission of Special Olympics Texas is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
