Event Details

Sunset FlightJoin aviation photographer Lyle Jansma as he leads the Aviation Photographer's Show & Share with local aviation photography enthusiasts. Find out the stories behind their best shots and what made them their favorites of 2012.

Whether you are a professional or amateur aviation photographer, or just a warbird enthusiast, you're encouraged to join in and share with the discussion and the exhibition of your best images created.

Participants are asked to submit between 4 and 6 of their best aviation-related images and then explain the "who, what, where and why" to the group for their selected photographs captured in the past year.

Image submissions must be sized at 2000 pixels wide and 100 DPI and can be send to hfm-photographer@jansmadesign.com before December 1st 2012. Feel free to email Lyle with any questions or comments.

The event starts at 9:00am, before the monthly Fly Day activities at 12:00pm, so this is a unique opportunity to 'make a day of it' at HFM.

Heritage Flight Museum

Founded in 1996 by Apollo 8 astronaut Maj. General William Anders, the Heritage Flight Museum is a non-profit, 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the preservation and flying of historic military aircraft. The Museum settled at Bellingham International in 2001, and has been developing their displays and their community programs since then. Visitors are welcome to get an up-close look at the collection of memorabilia and artifacts, and a selection of flying World War II, Korean and Vietnam era aircraft.

HFM is open Monday-Saturday from 9:00am-4:00pm, based on staff availability. HFM partners with local food truck StrEAT Food on Wednesdays to bring lunch to the Museum from 11:30am-2:30pm. Docents & volunteers are on site Thursday-Saturday from 12:00-4:00pm. Fly Days are held on the 3rd Saturday of every month, also from 12:00-4:00pm.

Annual special events include Warbird Weekend Dinner/Dance & Fly Day over the 3rd weekend in June, Props & Ponies Mustang-Mustang Show the 3rd Saturday in August, and hosting of the CAF Arizona Wing aircraft every two years.
