Description

Treat your child to a fun-filled week of singing, dancing, drumming, and music making and art inspired by the vibrant heritage of South Africa! "A World of Music" Summer Day Camp, from July 10 through July 14, will take children on a cultural safari with the unique music of the Zulu community.

Activities are tailored to age and skill and are led by San Diego Children's Choir staff and Teaching Artist Nomsa Burkhardt, from the Center of World Music. Burkhardt, who is of Zulu heritage, has been teaching and sharing the customary music and dance from her native culture with Americans of all ages for more than two decades.

Open to youth grades 2-5 (Grade level for Fall 2017).

Dates: July 10-14, 2017
Time: 9am-3pm daily*
*Friday camp hours will run from 9am-5:30 PM
Free performance for families: Friday, July 14, 5:00PM

Rate: $345 per child. Rate includes daily lunch catered by UCSD, T-Shirt, materials, and free performance.

Sibling discount: $25 deduction for each additional sibling

Space is limited. Registration closes Monday, June 26.
