Description

Please join us for a training and community discussion as part of East King County Welcoming Week.

Lunch provided, starting at 12:00. Program is from 12:30-2:00.

As we strive to promote positive economic growth in our diverse, global community, how can we create more opportunities for Eastside residents from all backgrounds to be part of our planning, outreach efforts, and strategies?

Event Overview

This training reviews the array of programs and strategies that other communities have pioneered to help include immigrants in local community and economic development efforts. Participants will receive an introduction to Welcoming America’s Guide to Immigrant Economic Development and Welcoming Economies Playbook. The training is customized to meet East King County interests and landscape by taking a deeper dive into two strategies - immigrant entrepreneurship and skilled immigrant integration - while providing an overview of other program areas.

Participants will meet others focused on various aspects of economic development in our region, and learn how to connect immigrant inclusion to regional economic development efforts. Together we'll consider what models could work best in our community and what action steps we can take to implement our ideas.
