Description

Middle Eastern Mosaic Productions presents:

A Weekend with Tamalyn Dallal!

Join us for an intensive weekend studying with the legendary Tamalyn Dallal in Miami!

Saturday and Sunday, January 27-28, 2018!

LOCATION:

Miami Hispanic Cultural Arts Center

(Second Floor)

111 SW 5th Avenue

Miami, FL 33130

SCHEDULE:

Saturday, January 27th: 11am - 3pm (with 30 minute break)

Saturday Topic: Tamalyn Dallal's Technique

Learning the difference between substance and style. There is technique that you must always work on perfecting, and there is personal style that distinguishes you from other dancers. This class will help differentiate between the two. She will teach how to clean and clarify your technique, making way to your own expression and style.

Sunday, January 28th: 11am - 3pm (with 30 minute break)

Sunday Topic: "Ahla Leila" Full Oriental Routine Choreography

This is a revival of the classic and signature choreography from the MEDE Performing Co. (1997). Ahla Leila utilizes veils, zils, choreography, formations, and improvisation, all in one dance. This dance celebrates the 21st anniversary of Miami's first full scale theatrical Middle Eastern production, "Emerald Dreams", and it was the opening number. Participants can join a group that will perform it in the next Middle Eastern Mosaic showcase in June 2018.

ABOUT THE LOCATION:

The Miami Hispanic Cultural Arts Center "The White House of the Ballet" is the residence of three of the most recognized and prestigious cultural art institutions in Miami Dade County with more than 20 years of experience; The Miami Hispanic Ballet (MHB), the Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami (CCBM) and Creation Art Center (CAC), all not for profit organizations with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status and also introducing The MHCAC Schools of Music, Paint and Theater , and the Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami School (CCBM School). THE WARNER HOUSE:

This impressive 1911 Neo-Classical building was designed for J.W. Warner, founder of South Florida's first floral company. The home's fine craftsmanship is especially evident in its massive columns, Palladian window and porte-cochère. Wide porches and verandas adapt the J.W. Warner House to the Florida climate with a graciousness that evokes the elegance of Florida's early years. This house was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1983 and has been restored to its original splendor by the MHCAC.
