FAQs

Where exactly are these two events being held?

Friday, January 12: The Champagne Reception will be held at the BMW CCA Foundation Museum. Set your GPS to 190 Manatee Court, Greer SC 29651.

Saturday, January 13: The Foundation Gala will be held at Thornblade Country Club. Set your GPS to 1275 Thornblade Boulevard, Greer SC 29650.

Will David Hobbs and Brian Redman be appearing at both events?

No. They'll only be appearing at the Saturday evening gala. That being said, you do NOT want to miss Erik Wensberg's "pit walk" through the exhibition cars on Friday evening. Get yourself to both events!

Is there a dress code?

Dress for the Friday Champagne Reception is BMW casual. Dress for the Saturday Gala is more formal, jackets for men, and no jeans, please.

What airport should I fly into?

Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) is just a few miles from both venues, and major rental car services are available. You can also fly into Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), which is about 90 miles away. A third option is Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), which is about 160 miles away.

What are the recommended hotels?

There are two major areas for hotels, each with very different vibes.

Suburban hotels, close to the venues: Any chain hotel near the intersection of Interstate 85 and Pelham Road (exit 54) will be suitable. Check the map feature on Hotels.com for a good look. These hotels are close to the airport and both venues, with lots of restaurants nearby. An all-American, suburban vibe.

Downtown hotels, 16 miles from the Museum: The Westin Poinsett, Hyatt Regency, Courtyard by Marriott Greenville Downtown, Hampton Inn Downtown Riverplace, Home2Suites Greenville Downtown. If you've never experienced one of America's best small downtowns, we recommend you do it now. Scores of restaurants, on a tree-lined Main Street leading to the falls of the Reedy River in downtown's Falls Park. If you don't stay downtown, at least make a point of visiting during your trip.

Will I need to print my tickets and bring them to the event(s)?

No...we'll have your name(s) at the door!

Are there minimum age requirements to enter the event?

For the Friday Champagne Reception, the minimum age for attendees is 10. For the Saturday Gala, the minimum age is 16. Attendees who want to enjoy alcohol must be 21 years of age at both events.

What are my parking options?

At the Friday Champagne Reception, parking will be available on both pavement and grass at the Museum property. At the Saturday Gala, park in the main lot at Thornblade Country Club, and walk towards the covered entrance to the Clubhouse.

What can I bring into the event?

Bring your cameras...so much fodder for Facebook and Instagram! You'll be able to take all the photographs and video you want. If you post it on social media, please tag the Foundation! No pets will be allowed at either event.
