Join us for two days of bliss with Shankari Bowmaster in Charlotte, NC. Since 2009, Shankari has been on a journey of self discovery, connection and expansion in the universe. By allowing herself to move in time and space, while witnessing her actions, she has become a stronger Yogi. She understands the need to invoke the six paths of yoga, for not only herself, but her students. Trained in the lineage of Integral Yoga, she has spent years connecting to breath, body, strength, movement, and energy to create her own style of Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa Flow, which she calls Soul Flow. This style of Yoga draws in elements of her time training with Faith Hunter and Toni Bergins, as well as her primary training, at Satchidananda Ashram, Yogaville. She is the Founder of Shakti Tribe, a group that is based on the principles of empowering women in sacred space, through yoga, self care, motivational insight and inspiration. She is also a partner and creative director of the Shensara Yoga Festival, an annual 4 day Yoga and Music Festival held in Luray, VA, and is 1/2 of the magical Kirtan and world music duo, The Ascendants. She also leads her own Soul Kirtan events. She encourages everyone to tap into their unlimited potential and spirit!
Saturday, February 4, 2017 10am until 12pm:
Soul Kirtan Bhakti Workshop
It’s only LOVE. That is what we must tell ourselves to truly tap into the POWER of Bhakti Yoga. Come on a journey to discover the depth of chanting vibrations and the effects of it on our systems. You can chant in any language, but the power of Sanskrit, and its meaning and purpose can be profound. In this workshop, Shankari will deliver lecture on the subject of the ancient branch of Bhakti Yoga and devotional services. We will then move into chanting together as a group, and understanding the power of “call and response”. Understanding Bhajan’s or Devotional Songs, allows an individual to successfully open up their heart center.
Sunday February 5, 2017 1pm until 3pm:
Meditation and Movement Workshop
Are you constantly feeling “out of balance”? Now is the time to purify you and embrace contentment and stillness. In this workshop we will dissect two of the eight limbs of Yoga. These are, Dharana or Concentration and Dhyana or Meditation. By learning how to harness the power of these two paths, it will allow you to remove separation between yourself and the universe. We will use imagery and visualization techniques to center the breath and mind. We will also journey into contemplation and witnessing techniques to balance energy. This workshop consists of lecture, meditation, pranayama or breathing techniques, Yoga Nidra or deep relaxation and journaling. Gentle Hatha Yoga can also be incorporated into this workshop.
Single Day tickets are available for $30/person. The two day pass is $50 (a $10 savings). Spaces are limited and advanced registration is required. Sales end 1/15/2017.
Join us for an inspiring and transformative weekend!
