Tucked between the Vosges Mountains and the Rhine River, Alsace is a cultural crossroads where French flair meets German tradition — and every village looks like it leapt from the pages of a fairy tale. How did this northeastern French region become so steeped in charm, with timber-framed houses, flower-filled balconies, and legendary wines at every turn? From spiral medieval streets to Renaissance libraries, it's time to uncover the unforgettable towns that bring Alsace’s story to life.

Join New York Adventure Club for a captivating six-part series through the enchanting towns of Alsace, packed with medieval marvels, cultural treasures, hidden wine route gems, and storybook charm around every corner. In Part Five: Colmar, we’ll explore the heart of Alsace — a colorful canal town where artistic splendor, architectural harmony, and rich culinary traditions converge.

Led by tour guide Kelsey Betzelberger, this experience — featuring plenty of firsthand photo and video walkthroughs, intriguing anecdotes, and expert insights — will include:

  • La Petite Venise: Canals and Colorful Charm — A look at Colmar’s most iconic quarter, where flower-lined waterways and pastel-painted timbered homes offer a scene of fairytale tranquility
  • The Isenheim Altarpiece & Unterlinden Museum — An exploration of Alsace’s most powerful religious artwork, and the museum that preserves its deep spiritual resonance
  • Vineyards, Gewürztraminer & Alsatian Choucroute — A discussion around Colmar’s winemaking heritage, the region’s famously aromatic white wine, and the hearty sauerkraut dish it complements
  • Architectural Harmony & Quiet Corners — An overview of the town’s unique mix of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque buildings, from bustling squares to tucked-away courtyards
  • A Living Canvas of Alsatian Culture — A glimpse into how Colmar reflects Alsace’s cultural heart — a place where every façade tells a story and every bite or sip connects to tradition

Afterward, we'll have a Q&A with Kelsey — any and all questions are welcomed and encouraged!
