Event description

Description

Have you ever wondered what life is like on Greenland? Here’s your chance to find out!

On Sunday, November 17, yacht designer and former Cape Cod Maritime Museum president Bill Cook will give a talk and show a video of his 2010 voyage to Greenland. With several friends, he sailed his 56’ sloop Resolution to the south coast of the world’s largest island, a spectacular mountainous shore that The Lonely Planet Guide has described as “something out of a Tolkien fantasy.”

About Bill Cook

A yacht designer who lives in Barnstable, Bill’s designs range from a 10’ frostbite dinghy to an 85’ world champion maxi. He has sailed over most of the North Atlantic, including a live-aboard year in Western Europe, the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. In recent years, he has sailed to Labrador, Newfoundland four times; Northern Canada’s Baffin Island once; and Greenland twice.
