Event description

Description

With Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria, many people were deployed to the affected areas from agencies that are not typically associated with or the first agencies you think about in disaster response and recovery.

The Philadelphia FEB Emergency Preparedness and Security Council is pleased to offer insight into the experiences of some of our local federal employees who supported response and recovery efforts to these recent hurricanes. They will talk about their experiences—what it was like, what they expected, what they learned, and what they wish they had known before they left. In addition, they will offer insight into what worked well, what didn't, what lessons can we apply here, and what should we change on this end to help things work better the next time.

This is sure to be a very interesting presentation. If you have considered being part of the FEMA Surge Capacity or are interested in what a disaster deployment response is like, or if you want to get some ideas on how we can take steps to improve assistance to future victims of disasters, you should attend.

Our speakers come from TSA, GSA, and SEC, possibly others.
