Description

Join the conversation!

Meet friends in the Asheville area to discuss meaningful topics that build a collective vision for a more unified society!

In honor of the 200 years since the birth of Bahá'u'lláh and the birth of the Báb, prophet-founders of the Bahá'i Faith, the Bahá'is of Asheville and Buncombe county will be hosting an inclusive and dynamic Unity World Café.

For over a century, Bahá'í communities around the world have been working to break down barriers of prejudice and have collaborated with many to promote the goal of a unified global society. At the heart of any Bahá'i and so many others lies a deep belief and conviction that humanity is one.

The afternoon at Stephen's Lee will include small-group conversations on themes of Unity. These themes directly assist in understanding how to unify society and the humanity as a whole. Learn more about the World Café.

There will be 5 conversation rotations at 20 minutes each. Breaks and refreshments will be included. Participants will witness how we are all part of a greater community building process -- from the individual, to the neighborhood, to the globe. Reflection and fellowship will close the workshop over a globally inspired meal.

Some topics include:

  • Consultation as a key to unlocking understanding
  • Just governance without partisanship or campaign
  • Eliminating racial prejudice, more importantly celebrating the Oneness and diversity of all people
  • Recognizing that science and religion must agree.
  • And more!!!

A children and teen program will compliment the adult workshop. Through creative and exploratory activities they will learn similar concepts about unity, being a friend and accepting of all people.

Individuals are asked to register for the workshop via EventBrite but some registration may be available at the door. Space is limited.

As a memorial of the weekend, a teal conversation picnic table will be donated to the city at Stephen's Lee to remind ourselves to always learn about one another and establish unity among all people.
