On February 21, 2026, we will celebrate Bishop Joe L. Nobles’ 90 years of life, 70 years of ministry, and 30 years of dedicated servant leadership.
This celebration will bring together faith partners, church members, community leaders, families, and supporters for an elegant evening featuring dinner, a cruise, and live performances as we commemorate Bishop Nobles’ decades of service and his commitment to faith, family, and community.
About Bishop Joe L. Nobles
Bishop Joe L. Nobles has spent his life committed to faith, service, and supporting his community. Born in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, and raised in California from the age of 12, he began his pastoral work in 1969 when he founded Victory Temple Church in San Francisco. Over the years, he has served in several leadership roles within the Church of God in Christ and currently serves as First Administrative Assistant to Bishop J.W. Macklin of the Nor Cal Metropolitan Jurisdiction.
For nearly 30 years, he has led Dancey Memorial Church of East Oakland, known for its strong worship tradition and deep community engagement. His ministry spans more than five decades and includes preaching, teaching, counseling, outreach, and sharing his gift for traditional gospel music.
Bishop Nobles is a U.S. Army veteran, a retired longshoreman, and a recipient of numerous community and church recognitions. He is married to Lady Joetta and is the proud father of six.

Founded in 1957 by Superintendent Joseph and Mother Plumie Dancey, Dancey Memorial Church of God in Christ has served as a cornerstone of faith and community in Oakland.
Under the leadership of Bishop Joe L. Nobles and Lady Joetta Nobles, the church continues its mission “Beyond These Walls,” expanding outreach, youth programs, and community partnerships while strengthening its commitment to service, hope, and progress.

We will set sail across the beautiful San Francisco Bay at sunset. Boarding begins at 5:45 p.m., and we kindly ask that all guests arrive promptly to ensure boarding before departure.
