Event description

Description

Born on May 23rd in 1928, Rosemary Clooney and her sister Betty were virtually abandoned by first their mother and then their father. But Rosemary Clooney was both talented and tenacious. By 1945 she was singing on the radio and by 1949, she signed with Columbia Records. So began an amazing theatrical resume that encompassed not only a career as one of America’s favorite vocalists but also a regular TV show and a film career including “Here Come the Girls” and “White Christmas.”

“A Tribute to the Life and Music of Rosemary Clooney” stars Valerie Rachelle as Rosemary Clooney and Livia Genise on duets and narration. They are backed up by Karl Iverson on Keyboard, Dave Miller on Bass, Daryl Fjeldheim on Sax, Clarinet & Flute, and Steve Sutfin on Drums.

Directed by Lauren Blair and with musical arrangements and musical direction by Brian Kerns and a script by Valerie Rachelle, the show features 22 of Rosemary Clooney’s hits, including “The Man That Got Away”, “A Foggy Day in London Town”, “Love, You Didn’t Do Right by Me” and “Let’s Face the Music and Dance.” So ‘Come On-a’ the Bellview Grange and experience this tribute to one of the finest singers in America!
