Description
Led by historian Dee Morris, this tour will wind through avenues and paths designed by General Henry A.S. Dearborn (who earlier developed Mount Auburn Cemetery) amid an interactive landscape where nature is revealed amid mementos of 19th-century aesthetics. Off the grid from the bustle of cosmopolitan Boston, this “piece of rural art,” ornamented with choice sculptures, specimen trees and Lake Hibiscus, was both a final resting place for many of Boston’s Victorians, avant-garde and intellectuals, and a garden park for the living.
