This special event celebrates one of the world's oldest crops, barley. The evening will commence with beverages and a tasting of sweet and savory treats made with new varieties from the Oregon State University Barley Project.

Learn how this delicious grain is emerging from an identity sequestered to feed and malt to a more diverse usage in wholesome baked goods and other fine table fares. A panel discussion will focus the gathering with experts in the fields of breeding, farming, and baking to explore how attributes such as beta-glucan content and the naked seed will perform in various culinary applications and organic agronomics.
