Event description

Description

Come meet The Bread Project's new Executive Director Pamela Calloway, taste the treats we make, and hear more about our award-winning Bakery Bootcamp®. Our mission is to alleviate poverty for low-income residents of the Bay Area and empower them on their paths to self-sufficiency. We provide them free training and job readiness skills for employment in the baking and food service industry. Baking is a universal skill replicable and transferable across all cultures and languages, and we all know the love we feel when we eat fresh bread and baked goods. Residents who enroll in our program have typically faced multiple barriers to employment: lack of education, disabilities, unstable housing, limited English skills, criminal records, and chronic underemployment. We like to say our participants are ‘baking through barriers,’ and we invite you to join us for an evening to learn more about how you can support them!
