A Taste of Spring: Wine Tasting & Cooking Class
Event Information
About this Event
Join us for a virtual wine tasting and cooking class on Friday, April 9 to benefit Culikid!
Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard will offer expert tasting notes on two of their wines while Well Rooted Kitchen will teach you how to cook a spatchcocked roasted chicken, asparagus herb salad, and cabbage slaw, perfect for spring! The spatchcocked Thai BBQ roasted chicken, ribboned asparagus herb salad, and purple cabbage with zesty sesame ginger dressing will pair nicely with the two wines and be ready for you to enjoy for dinner at the end of the class.
Registration includes two half bottles of wine (375 ml), shipped right to your door—Wiemer's Riesling Dry 2019 and Riesling Semi-Dry 2019, both of which received 92-point ratings from Wine Enthusiast Magazine! Be sure to check out all the optional add-ons when selecting your tickets to purchase additional wines to enjoy.
You will be responsible for purchasing your own ingredients. We will send you the ingredient and supply list two weeks before the event. If you have any dietary restrictions, let us know in the registration form and we will send you substitute options if needed. If you are vegetarian, you can substitute the chicken with a roasted cauliflower.
After you register, you'll be sent the Zoom meeting link to attend.
All proceeds will benefit Culikid, a New York City nonprofit that helps individuals of all abilities strengthen their social, independence, and motor skills through healthy culinary programs.
You can still register for this event but we can no longer ensure timely delivery of the wines. When you register, you'll have the option of purchasing the two event wines plus additional Wiemer wines or skipping wine purchases altogether. They will likely not be delivered by 4/9. However, you can bring your own wines to the event and drink your Wiemer wines at your leisure when they arrive. Join us for the cooking class and Wiemer's expert wine tasting notes. It will be a blast no matter what kind of wine you're drinking!
