Event description
Temple Beth Israel welcomes the latest cohort of "Introduction to Judaism " developed in conjunction with the Union for Reform Judaism.

About this event

Temple Beth Israel welcomes the latest cohort of its Introduction to Judaism series, developed in conjunction with the Union for Reform Judaism and presented in 18 sessions, beginning October 13, 2021. Our hope is that this class can be both in-person at TBI and online, but we are not yet certain about the in-person component. Facilitated by Cantor Paul Buch, with Rabbi Jonathan Kupetz and special guests participating, the course course present a comprehensive view of the tradition, rituals. wisdom, philosophy, customs and rituals of the Jewish people throughout their 3500 year history.

The first two class are offered free of charge as a "Taste of Judaism" for those who have not yet decided to embark on the full class journey, or perhaps are just curious about the Jewish community and the style of learning that is offered.

Please note: the full schedule on Eventbrite is for information purposes. If you are joining us for the full course or just Taste of Judaism (first two classes), please ONLY REGISTER FOR THE OCT. 13th DATE.

Couples attending together pay only a single tuition. Scholarships will be considered. Tuition is $180 and is due no later prior to the third class. This class fulfills the basic education requirements for conversion set by the Reform movement, provided the participant completes classwork and a final essay exam.
