A Tailored Fit: Three Conversations on Fitting In featuring Dr. Brenda Weber (#2)

About this Event

What does it mean to fit in? How do we do so when who we are conflicts with the community in which we live? When—why—do we decide that trying to fit in (or not) helps us grow spiritually? In this series of three conversations, you are invited to explore how friction points that exist in personal and community (r)evolution can help us grow spiritually has human beings. (Learn more about the Nov. 3 and Nov. 6 conversations.)

During the second conversation in this series (November 5), Brenda Weber, will explore the highs and lows of growing up non-Mormon in a predominantly Mormon community. Sharing from her new book Latter-Day Screens: Gender, Sexuality, and Mediated Mormonism, Weber uses this experience to think through notions of stigma, “normal” identities, pluralism, and progressive social change. Participants will be invited to reflect and journal on their own experiences of being stigmatized.

Attend any or all of these conversations!

Resident parking only along Cruft Street. Use the parking lot behind the Tube Factory or street parking along Shelby.
