Event description

Description

Eva Schloss is a Holocaust survivor and the stepsister of Anne Frank. She also serves as a trustee of the Anne Frank Educational Trust, has published two books, and is the subject of James Still’s play And then they came for Me: Remembering the world of Anne Frank.

Like her stepsister, Eva went into hiding in the Netherlands and was captured and sent to the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp.

Since 1985, Eva Schloss has devoted herself to Holocaust education and global peace. She has recounted her wartime experiences in over a thousand speeches. In 1999, Eva signed the Anne Frank Peace Declararion with UN Secretary General Kofi Annan and the niece of Raul Wallenberg (who rescued thousands of Jews in Budapest).

Eva works tirelessly to end the violence and bigotry plaguing our world. Her story is difficult to imagine, yet its insightful message reminds us that life is precious and fragile, that the creative spirit is stronger than fear, and that love makes the difference.

During the evening Eva will be interviewed by Freedom Writer Foundation co-founder Erin Gruwell (The 2007 film Freedom Writers is based on her story).

Please come for this once-in-a lifetime experience.
