Event description

Description

Laura Lee McIntyre, PhD, is an expert in prevention science and special education, early identification and treatment of autism and other developmental disabilities, and promotion of health and well-being in vulnerable populations. Her presentation will use research on early identification of developmental disorders to illuminate promising intervention and prevention approaches to reduce negative developmental, social, behavioral, and mental health outcomes in children and families. New advances in genetics, neuroimaging, and psychosocial and educational approaches will be discussed in an effort to draw from multiple disciplines that hold power and promise for improving the lives of children with neurodevelopmental disorders and their families. This talk is open to the public and is part of the Science Knight Out series, sponsored by the University of Oregon Phil and Penny Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact.
