About this Event

Our 4th annual special weekend for homeschooling moms will be Friday evening, March 12th and Saturday, March 13th, 2021 in sunny Southern California. Come enjoy a weekend of rest with other homeschooling moms as we learn how to fulfill our ministry of motherhood and our calling to homeschool. It is going to be a weekend of encouragement, fellowship, laughter, and worship.

Carrie De Francisco along with a few special guests will be sharing how to rest in the Lord, focus on what is most important, and simplify your life and homeschooling. Carrie will also share heart-warming homeschooling moments, epic fails, homeschool “how-to” advice, and a few hilarious mothering stories.

FRIDAY, MARCH 12th: 6:30-9:30 PM Homeschooling High School

Our most popular talk is back! In our first session, we will share helpful hints and legal advice on how to successfully send your high school students out into the world! Yes, homeschooling through high school is not only possible, but it is a gift and a blessing from God. First, Carrie De Francisco will explain what is needed to meet most state graduation requirements and then our panel of homeschool graduates will share their individual paths to meeting these requirements. We will end with a Q & A session. Our panel of homeschool high school graduates will share their high school journey, what they did (traditional and non-traditional) to meet the CA requirements, what they are doing now in the workforce and/or on the college campuses, and how homeschooling through high school helped each of them achieve their goals. Homeschool graduates and Carrie and Mike De Francisco will share how to get into college, meet some of those rigorous college requirements, and how to create a homeschool high school experience that builds on your high schooler’s God-given strengths and talents. Dads & High School students are welcome to attend our 1st session on Friday night and to ask tons of questions!

Just Breathe: Hannah’s Hope (1 Samuel 1-2 Bible Study)

Like Hannah, are you pleading with the Lord for big or small miracles? Are you constantly on your knees interceding for a prodigal son or wayward daughter? Are you desperately seeking the Lord’s guidance for the best way to nurture your children and homeschool your family? In our first session, we will dig deep into the story of Hannah, a woman who persistently asked God for miracles, who dedicated her life to raising a child of God, and who continuously praised God for his goodness and faithfulness. In 1 Samuel: 1-2, we learn lessons from Hannah on how to be joyful (and patient) when God’s timing and plans don’t match ours! If God has called you to homeschool, He will set the course, and not only will His plans be perfect, but they will bring much joy and many blessings. Even though they are hard lessons to learn, we need to learn how to patiently wait on the Lord and rest in His promises. Carrie De Francisco will share biblical principles from the story of Hannah that can be applied to your ministry of motherhood and your calling to homeschool.

The Sabbath Principle: How to Apply it to your Homeschooling

“Be still and know I am Lord” (Ps 46:10). The Lord commanded us to rest on the seventh day. But throughout scripture, God commands us to rest not only on the Sabbath but throughout our day, our month, and our year. In our second session, Carrie De Francisco will share how to apply the Principle of Sabbath and Double Portions to our homeschooling. Practical tips will be given on how to apply biblical principles of Sabbath rest to our homeschool lessons, schedules, and calendars. God’s Word encourages us to cast our worries and burdens onto the Lord and how to find true rest in the Lord. This definitely applies to our homeschooling too! In this session, we will explore how to find time to be still in the Lord and how these Sabbath moments are not wasted time but actually necessary. After this session, you will no longer feel guilty about taking a coffee break or much deserved day off.

Waiting on the Lord: One Mom’s Testimony

Fellow homeschooling mom, Desiree Lang, will share her powerful testimony of how God’s plans were radically different from hers. However, He led her one step at a time along the path He chose for her and her unborn child. Desiree’s “Andy Story” is a powerful story of how choosing life and trusting God can bring honor and glory to God while sharing the love of Jesus and His miraculous power with those who don’t believe. When others told her to give up and move on, Desiree chose to believe in God and his promises. Eighteen years later, her miracle is not only surviving but thriving and is a walking testament to the power of choosing life and choosing God’s plans for our lives. Bring your doubts. Bring your kleenex. Bring your friends. If you hear one talk this weekend, make time for this one. You will leave inspired and able to wait patiently on the Lord.

The Simplification Principle: How to Apply it to your Homeschooling

Regain your sanity, reclaim your schedule, and reignite your love for homeschooling! Once we truly begin to rest in the Lord, then we can finally begin to simplify. In our last session, Carrie De Francisco will share how to do less in order to accomplish more. She will share tried and true ideas on how to simplify your life, your home, and your homeschooling. Learn how to teach different subjects to multiple grade levels to maximize your time, organize your day to get the most out of it, how to unplug from the internet so you can plug into community, how to create a love of learning, how to have fun and enjoy your time with family while creating lasting memories, and most importantly, how to appreciate and live out your ministry of motherhood and your calling to homeschool. Come learn how to apply the Simplification Principle so that your homeschooling will be God-honoring, Christ-centered, Spirit-filled, and even fun, memorable, and enjoyable!
