Description

Please join us for a special screening of THE HUMAN ELEMENT to celebrate the inaugural Half Earth Day Los Angeles. The screening will be followed by a Call to Action Q&A with:

James Balog - Acclaimed photographer and Founder of Earth Vision Institute

Matthew Testa - Director of THE HUMAN ELEMENT

Chief Ken Pimlott - Chief of Cal Fire

Michael Samulon - Senior Policy Analyst, Sustainability Office of Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti

Pat Chandler – CEO, Creative Visions

Moderated by David Holbrooke - Artistic Director of EarthxFilm

Extreme weather and global warming, due to climate change, is threatening the well-being and effective functioning of American communities - large and small - and the lives of the people who live in them. While human activity is detrimentally shaping our world, many Americans are the overlooked victims of environmental change, including fisherman, firefighters, soldiers, children, coal miners and homeowners. These people are the human face of climate change.

We have a chance to respond and help reverse the change. On Half-Earth Day 2018, EarthX, EarthxFilm, EarthVision Film, EarthVision Institute, the IDA, Creative Visions, Global Green and Waldorf 100 will come together in Los Angeles to educate and inspire action for a sustainable future.
