Event Details

Join us for an afternoon of indepth discussion about the plight of the Rohingya Muslims and the role we can play as Canadians in alleviating the dire situation facing the Rohingya. Our keynote speaker is Imam Abdul Malik Mujahid, Chair of Burma Task Force.

The program consists of the following:

- Meet & Greet
- Opening Prayer and Opening Remarks by the Islamic Shia Ithna-Asheri Jamaat of Toronto
- A special presentation by Imam Abdul Malik Mujahid
- A Question & Answer session.

The program ends with networking and refreshments.

Islamic Shia Ithna Asheri Jamaat of Toronto

This event is organized by the Islamic Shia Ithna Asheri Jamaat of Toronto, a diverse community of over 7,000 Muslims, the majority of whom reside in the City of Vaughan and the Town of Richmond Hill. The organization operates four religious centres in the Greater Toronto Area (Thornhill, Brampton and Hamilton), including the Jaffari Community Centre, and London, Ontario. The guiding principles of the Islamic Shia Ithna Asheri Jamaat of Toronto espouse and promote the core Canadian values of equality, fairness and tolerance. The organization's progressive and socially responsible ethos is held up as a role model for other faith-based organizations in Canada and abroad. Through its centres, the organization successfully carries out its own youth programs, periodic publications, library, seniors’ activities, burial facilities and various other functions.
