Hello.
When grief hits it can affect each of us in very different ways. Whether you have lost a partner, loved one, friend or a pet, grief can be devastating. There is no wrong or right way to process what you are currently experiencing. Winter can be a particularly hard time to be dealing with loss, with the cold, darker days, and seemingly everyone else around you in 'festive' spirits. If you are worried about having to celebrate, or be cheerful when you are desperately sad inside - this space is for you.
The start of December marks Grief Awareness Week, and we wanted to create a space for people who have lost someone, to not feel alone. On 4th December come and join us at Phoenix Garden for an intimate event where we provide a safe and supportive environment to explore and express feelings of loss and grief. The event is hosted by Claire Wigington (MBACP) from CW Wellbeing, an integrative counsellor, working with bereavement. Claire will share experiences of grief, both personal and professional and be joined by integrative psychotherapist and author of Grief is Sh*t, Octavia Landy (MA MBACP UKCP) .
After the talk there will be time to mix, have a slice of cake and tea, with a take home gift bag, all included in the session price.
What to expect:
7:30pm - Arrivals
8:00pm - A presentation on grief delivered by integrative counsellor Claire Wigington exploring:
- Different types of loss
- Stages of grief
- Experiences of grief
- What you can do to help heal from loss
- Learning to live with grief
8:45pm - Psychotherapist and author Octavia Landy (MA MBACP UKCP) shares her insights on loss.
9:15pm - Tea, coffee and cake. A chance to share or ask questions. No pressure, take what you need from the space.
10pm - Event ends. Gift bags shared for all attendees.
This is an intimate, in-person gathering, offering a chance to connect, or just listen, with others who are also experiencing the pain of loss. It will be a safe and respectful space, held by counselling and therapeutic professionals. We look forward to meeting you.
