A Social Worker’s Guide to Dynamically Documenting the Social Security Disability Case

For-Credit Workshop for Social Workers Who Work with Individuals with Mental Illness and/or Substance Use Disorders

Please note that this workshop is sponsored 100% by the New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) and is FREE to its contracted/funded agencies. There is a nominal fee for agencies that are not contracted/funded agencies. Licensed but not contracted agencies are not considered free attendees.

No Show Policy: As with any event, there is a cost to providing FREE workshops to the community. DMHAS and the IT Project work with presenters to offer training that addresses current, relevant topics and depend on those who sign up to actually attend. Therefore, a $100 fee will be charged to those who do not cancel or give 24 hour notice that they will not be able to attend the event for which they have registered. SUBSTITUTIONS ARE PERMISSIBLE and preferred to cancellations. We prefer not to have to charge for no-shows so we hope you will attend the event offered

In these bureaucratic times, efficiently filling out forms and effectively recording treatment are crucial to getting vital benefits for your patients. This training will provide an introduction to Social Security disability programs for adults and will teach you to both clearly craft powerful medical source statements and make an impact when documenting a file. Though only social workers are eligible for credit, this workshop will prove valuable to other mental health professionals.

Presenter Sarah Dubinsky, Esq. – Sarah Dubinsky, Esq. is an experienced Social Security disability attorney and public benefits trainer, who has provided continuing education for numerous nonprofits and various units of NASW-NJ. She has worked at the Social Security Administration, Legal Services of New Jersey, and a Social Security disability think tank. She knows how the Social Security Administration thinks. She would like you to know too.

This course, A Social Worker's Guide to Dynamically Documenting the Social Security Disability Case, Approval #171408-0858, provided by Sarah Dubinsky, Esq., is approved for continuing education by the New Jersey Social Work Continuing Education Approval Collaborative, which is administered by NASW-NJ. CE Approval Collaborative Approval Period: September 29, 2017 through August 31, 2018. Social workers will receive two (2) non-clinical in social and cultural competence continuing education hours for participating in this course.
