Dear Friends and Fans,
It seems that another year has come and gone as fast as a snowflake melts on the tongue! Here we are, with another Winter Solstice to anticipate as each night is getting longer and longer. This time of year, I would usually be practicing with my band every few nights, having my sparkly dresses tailored, and eagerly checking ticket sales every day as I see the number creep up and up as I picture Mechanics Hall filling with all your beautiful faces.
This holiday season, however, looks much different for me!
2025 was anything but 'another year come and gone' for me. It began almost immediately with the discovery that I would be having a baby by October! I felt empowered and overjoyed. I spent the first two-thirds of 2025 so hopeful in continuing with the Winter Solstice Concert tradition. By August, I had to face a new reality...I would be having surgery sometime in mid-October which comes with a far different recovery process than I could truly plan for. The unknowns began to feel insurmountable. It felt only fair to myself and my family to give space to the idea of planning another big concert.
Thankfully, surgery went well and my daughter was born safe and sound on October 7th. It took 5 solid weeks to even begin to feel somewhat healthy again. With immense gratitude, I am happy to share that each day brings more healing, physically and mentally, and I could not be more honored to be a mother to my daughter, Autumn. She is joyful and inspiring. She is everything the holiday season is about.
In this happiness and healing, I decided to make some last minute calls to find any way possible to share with music, once again, in the Winter Solstice spirit. I have deeply missed singing and bringing music to others. The team at Assumption University is opening their doors and hosting at Curtis Hall; a beautiful 400 person venue that we will surely light up!
I will be performing in the way many of you have been used to seeing me over the years - solo acoustic. Songs and stories of peace, light, and transformation. And of course, holiday favorites!
We will return to the Great Hall at Mechanics Hall in 2026 and hope that this year can serve as a lovely interim night of music for many of you that find meaning on this special evening.
I hope you will join me.
with love,
cara
