A captivating and mind-bending Afrofuturist story that embarks on a breathtaking journey of galactic politics, heritage, and destiny. In 1857, a slave in Little Dixie, Missouri (U.S) is thrust into an intergalactic crises after encountering an alien from a crashed spaceship.
UNDERNEATH: Children of the Sun is David Kirkman’s feature film debut.
About the Director: David Kirkman is an innovative young writer, director, and filmmaker originally from Ferguson (birthplace of the Black Lives Matter movement).
His films focus on Black futurism, Black superheroes from Milestone Comics, and short documentaries highlighting Black life.
The Milestone Comics films have accumulated over 4 million views online and has attracted a global audience, even catching the attention of studios such as Netflix. His Black Entrepreneur series highlights black business owners from St. Louis, Tulsa, and Nashville making an impact in their communities.
